Mud Boxes

Mud boxes are a type of strainer designed to remove suspended insoluble particles of large and average size from flowing fluid. They are applied in heating systems, hot water and heat supply systems and air supply systems. Sand, clay and pipe scale get into pipes naturally or accumulate in the course of technical processes. Installation of a mud box in the heat supply pipeline allows for longer period between overhaul.
Mud boxes are fitted with removable covers or demountable joints for periodic cleaning. They are constructed of carbon steel (steel grades 20, WCB).
