Steel butterfly valves
Butterfly valves made of steel, in contrast to iron,are designed for more severe operating conditions. Their operating temperature is considered to be minus 60°C. The maximum values reach +700°C. Long-term operation in an aggressive environment allows using these valves in various industries and enterprises. Installation can be performed in the following areas:
- For hot water supply.
- For cold water supply.
- Ventilation.
- Arrangement of high-quality air conditioning.
Depending on the materials used for production, butterfly valves can also be used to supply drinking, industrial or sea water at various enterprises and industries. Steel butterfly valves are capable of passing the following types of substances:
- Food products.
- Loose components (for food or industrial purposes).
- Gases (in 90% of cases, natural gas is driven to supply homes or heating systems).
- Oils (of various chemical compound).
- Petroleum products.
- Aggressive chemical compositions.
- Abrasive medium.
Corrosion and deformation don’t appear. Operational qualities do not change or decrease. Steel butterfly valves demonstrate high performance in a wide range of temperature and pressure.
The choice of a steel butterfly valve is determined by the expected conditions in which the further operation of the product will be carried out. The following types of steel are distinguished:
- Alloy steel (LCC, LC1, LC2) - able to withstand prolonged exposure of low temperatures (up to -60°C).
- Carbon steel (WCB) – also used for operation at extremely low temperatures (up to -40°C).
- Stainless steel (CF8, CF8M) - has similar properties and is not susceptible to corrosion processes.
The usage for the production of high-quality steel allows the use of valves for high pressures. For our customers, there are options for valves that have up to 100 kgf/cm2 working pressure. Steel butterfly valves can be operated using elements such as a handle, a worm gear, an electric actuator or pneumatic actuator. Due to these properties, a steel butterfly valve is a universal device that can ensure the uninterrupted operation of any equipment and pipeline system.
